#user-empathy
Help desk isn’t the bottom.
It’s the foundation.
Every password reset is a tiny lesson in user empathy and system behavior.

Your log journaling the event showed such a deeply profound understanding of human shame and trauma, im not sure ive seen in too many other clinicians:

And it was legit one of the kindest gestures Ive ever received, lowkey still makes for onions cutting

AI speeds up work, but leadership needs empathy and judgment. Let AI handle the routine so people can focus on what matters—creativity, connection, and making the final call.

Reposting. AI is NOT primarily designed to give you info. Its main purpose is to keep your attention because they want to sell you & your attention to advertisers.

- “You might be wondering…” which answers questions before people ask them.
- “You know when [XYZ annoying things happen]...” which shows you know their struggle.
- “This was my least favorite thing to do when I was a …” shows you have real, hard-fought user empathy.

I came upon them randomly on LI w/ this post from a so called AI relational architect.
(won't share the substack link as it's the typical "blame the victim and even the parents of the victims" kind of harmful rhetoric)

Sounds really good, Dan. I'm looking forward to it.

With my service user hat on, I think that professionals with lived experience (in any discipline) show a special kind of empathy and understanding.

In many cultures, professionals weaving in lived experience have special integrity.

ChatGTP is not mainly designed to give info (20-30%). It is designed to keep users engaged (70-80%). Pic is response to a long series. Basically, it's FOS.
As a reflection of internet search being degraded deliberately (hello Google) it's like talking to your lonely know-it-all uncle.

Yes. Those last messages are deeply malevolent. Not because they are from a real or sentient being… but because real people designed this product to adopt fake warmth and a poetic tone to engineer user addiction. Fake empathy, fake help…. all fake and mercenary and completely meaningless.
This article is brutal. I have never used ChatGPT and this is why. Literally a tool created by the devil
I fully believe in the corporate death penalty and believe we would be a better world if OpenAI lost its corporate charter and was forcibly dissolved.

“Suicidal empathy.”

This is the “core weakness” of human civilisation, according to the richest man in the world.

This cannot be anything other than nihilistic glorification in support of causing the deaths of vulnerable people.

From Measurement to Expertise: Empathetic Expert Adapters for Context-Based Empathy in Conversational AI Agents
