#useful
So IDK, I'd like to be useful in some way, I've tried pivoting to nearly no USA politics, more focus on UK when I bother, and being a circus all by myself instead of yet another angry voice.
I'm not needed here anymore though, if I ever was.
I don't know enough too, so much to keep track of now. SMH

No, no one's interested in these suspiciously useful connections

The best thing about AnonOpin is how it's more useful than direct feedback to the café.

The Wiki article on the phrase is really interesting. It's a useful description of the trope, but reading about its misapplication was eye-opening. Especially that some even applied it to an actual person because of a character she played. 🙄

I think you need a caddy or a sherpa! A lot of people wear a waistcoat/gillet with lots of pockets, useful when too warm for your fleece.

This kind of small update that is useful to a niche group of people is just great.

Shutdown: why it's not necessary nor useful
Government funding gaps don’t have to mean a US‑style shutdown. There are practical alternatives that keep services running while politics is resolved.

I follow Wendy Ward on IG: made clothes from her patterns and bought a few of her very useful and clear books. She posted this recently and I literally had not realised the extent to which I have probably given away unsuitable clothes to charity. Really astounding.

Really sharp piece from @davidhendy.bsky.social on the crisis at the BBC - well worth your time reading.

There's a useful #20s30s comparison as well.

Yes, inverted indexes are useful, but doesn't have to be platform specific. You could also use a strategy like ivf+pq or hnsw-on-ivf.

These are still incredibly useful. The guy who maintains my T2 camper uses one, and it's certainly better than the Haynes Manual

Good summary of why AEO replaces SEO as a priority, especially for B2B (self-serving article because selling path7 services, but useful nevertheless).

sometimes you are a little cartoon cat and this makes your life a lot harder because the world is far too large and everyone is more interested in you as useful iconography and your ability to function as a person. and sometimes you are made of eyeballs in the process

This meltdown has been useful. I've learned a lot of the talking heads are dumber than dirt when it comes to understanding how legislatures work and the art of negotiation that happens as the sausage gets made.

I reckon Facebook and Threads are for the especially thick.
I find Instagram useful and my defacto network for awareness of comedy gigs now, I just try not to comment outside of comedy circles as idiotic replies are incessant.
But bluesky is my fav, I use moderation to mute words like 'Trump' etc.

Not that you asked for inactionable platitudes from a stranger but the phrase "someday this pain will be useful to you" gets me through things a lot.
