The Nebra Sky Disc - the oldest depiction of the cosmos in the world; showing the sun, moon and several other celestial constellations.

Found in a burial in Saxony - Germany, associated with the Bronze Age Únětice Culture

Dated to 1600 BCE

I researched languages that existed at the time, especially the branches of Proto-Indo-European my main conlangs are based on. I also research settlements and cultures that existed at the time, such as the Únětice settlement of Fidvár, which is where Nemoros, the capital of Nemoria, is set. (2/11)

#TheDragonblood: I'll go with the introduction of magic into the world. Around 2100 BCE in Fidvár (known as Nemoros to its people), a Únětice mining town home to around 1000 people bordering the Žitava in our present world's Slovakia, a portal was opened. (1/10)
Greetings, #NovemberWorldbuilders. Tell me about a legendary event that happened in your world's history. Perhaps a terrific cataclysm, or maybe something good like the growth of an amazing tree or the greatest rock concert ever. Something that the storytellers in your world love to sing about.

Since the magical world is an alt-Earth, splitting from our world around 2100 BCE, it shares all ancient civilisations older than that with our world, which besides the Únětice culture includes Ancient Egypt, Sumeria, the Indus Valley Civilisation, Longshan and Norte Chico, among others. (2/5)

#TheDragonblood: Nemoria has its origins in the ancient Únětice culture. Its capital, Nemoros, arose from the settlement of Fidvár, perhaps the largest urban settlement in Europe at the time, home to around 1000 people. (1/5)
It's our next week, #NovemberWorldbuilders! The theme this week is HISTORY in your fictional worlds. To start off with: does your world have any ancient (perhaps long-lost) civilizations? Did they leave ruins behind? Does anyone know what happened to them?

would be much more tolerable if there were any good pubs with a fireplace. I should winter in Únětice

Nemoros descends from the ancient Únětice settlement of Fidvár, corresponding to a location near present day Vráble, Slovakia, and is the place where magic was brought into the world. (2/3)

Here is the Nebra sky disk, considered by some the oldest known illustration of the night sky.

The artifact was discovered near Nebra alongside several Bronze Age weapons and is linked to the Unetice culture, which thrived in parts of Europe...

At Prague Airport (Terminal 2), happy to see you can buy cans of beer from small breweries like Zichovec and Únětice, in addition to giant makers like Pilsner Urquell. Tomorrow, someone on the other side of the Atlantic is going to try a great Czech pale lager for the first time.

#QueerPrompts 15: Felix is white and British.

Aimetor is Nemorian. Nemoria is in alt-Europe with PIE/Únětice origins.

Also, I know this question is about culture, not race or skin colour, but I want to talk about that since I haven't really figured out how to navigate race in this story. (1/3)

ÚNĚTICE??? HOLY SHIT MY COUNTRY MENTION!! (this site really needs its own hype animated emoji)

It's so amazing to see Western people know about this!! I'm so glad it has inspired your own world-building so much!!

Nemoria: I think I originally intended it to be Graeco-Roman inspired, but since then, it's sort of become a thing of its own. The current version is (in world) descended from the Únětice culture, and its language from late PIE (you'll see what I mean by that soon). (1/3)

This is the last loosely generic "warm-up" prompts. Previously built up or being made fresh here live, is this place inspired by somewhere else?

If you've got a unique information or research source, like specific books or niche websites, share them!

Na Slamníku has a beautiful garden and Unětice on tap. Klubovna Povaleč is also a nice garden, though the beers are less than stellar. Klášterní Výčep in the Břevnov monastery is special, and Kasárna Karlín has just reopened

Jsem tu první. Hrajeme až šestí a točej tu Únětice. To jsem zvědav, jak to beze mě odzpívají, poněvadž se mi asi odlepí relátko :)
