fMRI, PET, MEG are used mostly on immobilized subjects, so they are not very useful to study behavior. Optic methods monitor activity with a camera and can get to a resolution of 100μm. Twophoton microscope is used to get to the deeper tissue levels but the laser pulses are very strong and short./17
