Tracfone are a complete mess as far as actually providing useful cell service. they have little to no quality control on their good days, and there ain't many of those.
Community Cellular isn't bad so far since I switched. they do zero advertising, so their rates are a lot more reasonable. FYI.

Check out Tracfone. They're owned by Verizon now, but Verizon isn't on the list. I've had $15/month cell service for 8 years through them and been satisfied (though to be fair, I have a limited plan because I don't use the phone for much); still they tend to be cheaper than the big companies.

Go to wally world and get a tracfone for $20 and get a 90 day service card for another $20 plus sales tax and you will have a sterile phone you can take anywhere.You can also get international service for an extra fee.

I got this smartphone for $30 at best buy (walmart has it too). It's locked to tracfone but I will just use it on wifi. It's amazing how not bad it is for the price. It has microsd slot and headphone jack and you can use headphones as FM radio antenna 🤯

I bought a tracfone as burner phone for $50, and I am finding it works as well as its overpriced apple brother. Pretty OK camera as well.
