One of my daughter's home learning topics is to make an art piece inspired by Chinese dragons. She made a collage but I had to stay up late with her 🥱 She grinned when I said "You only do collage for art projects!"

She proudly handed it in this morning and all was well 😊

What aspects do you find confusing? I work quite a lot with GAMs and HGAMs, and have a few posts on the topics that may help ecogambler.netlify.app/blog/

People ask me a lot of WNBA questions. From the most overarching, league-wide, conceptual topics to the most in-the-weeds, miniscule, small-print rules, an awful lot of the answers boil down to "Money". Just because owners these days have more of it doesn't mean they like giving it away. #WNBA
The Sky were the only team to bid for the 2026 WNBA All-Star game, sources told me. The WNBA recruited Indiana to host in 2025. The Aces hosted 3 of the 4 All-Star games before 2024.

Why has there been such a disinterest in playing host? And is that changing?

Why Do So Few Teams Want to Host the WNBA All-Star Game?
Despite the league's broader success, only one team bid for 2026, and the league asked a team to host in 2025.

It's just easier and safer to make detached content about "solved" topics.

Because sitting down for 10 minutes on a topic means involvement, work.

Doing the same to destroy a grifters credibility means a bit social media beef so they just avoid it

I asked Microsoft to write up a comment for me. It gave it a 9/10. Mostly glowing, but said, "My only suggestion would be to improve accuracy on nuanced or industry-specific topics, but overall, it's an excellent tool that I'd definitely recommend to colleagues." #Wearecooked

The Canadian conversation mirrored the U.S., but attention was limited. Even though Canada's info ecosystem is highly susceptible to American politics, its distinct media structures and actor dynamics can help moderate the intensity and persistence of polarized online debates.

Authors @zeytinhanim.bsky.social and Esli Chan observed clear topic segregation between news outlets, influencers, and politicians in Canada. News outlets provided key updates, influencers guided commentary, and politicians engaged when it fit official narratives.

I really love this series and I feel like we need more content like this. Lifelong learning is crucial & it shouldn't always have to be dry and boring. And some of these topics are core health issues that were barely acknowledged when folks my age were in school

Tell me about it, like I'm the one who has to respect complete and utter bollocks.

They can't even just agree that we don't bring "sensitive" topics up around each other again; I have to be the one who "respects their opinions".

And I can't do that because I know they're just plain wrong.

And it's always either topics and opinions u love, or u absolutely hate. Cause those are the ones that get the most retention and reaction. And these companies keep track of not just what u like or comment, but how u touch the screen looking at certain content, for how long u do so etc. I hate this😭
