Yeah there was a decent little scene in gville (emphasis on little, but I did see a great Japanese thrashcore band there once) outside of the annual Fest, but here in Boston there are shows nearly every weekend, at least for my main genres of music. Over the course of a week I’m going to 4 shows

Ironically, Early Metallica was influenced by hardcore punk, which predates techno by a good bit, and then was a major influence on thrashcore, which was one of the early "____-core" subgenres.
