“Are you sure this dress is okay?” Becca asked for the third time as she fidgeted in the freshly laundered green wrap dress. “Heidi will love you whether you’re in a potato sack or a full-length evening gown.” Ian kissed the top of her head as he stood behind her in the full-length mirror. “Don’t you dare say trust me.” Ian smiled at her reflection. The full moon indents winked along with his left eye. He dipped his head and whispered the two words anyway. “Trust me. I’ve told her all about you and she’s half in love with you already. As am I.” Ian said against her neck. Even the shiver of those lips couldn’t shake loose the words he spoke so casually. Time enough for pondering them later. Right now, Becca needed to focus on impressing Ian’s best friend. A nearly impossible task since best friends and moms controlled the eject button of any relationship. Becca fully expected Molly to give Ian the third degree regardless of her fangirl tendencies, therefore she expected nothing less from Heidi.

In 2021, a researcher asked a group that included both Biden and Trump supporters to look at two versions of the prestigious journal Nature—one with merely an informative page about the magazine, the other carrying an endorsement of Biden. Here is the utterly unsurprising result: The endorsement message caused large reductions in stated trust in Nature among Trump supporters. This distrust lowered the demand for COVID-related information provided by Nature, as evidenced by substantially reduced requests for Nature articles on vaccine efficacy when offered. The endorsement also reduced Trump supporters’ trust in scientists in general. The estimated effects on Biden supporters’ trust in Nature and scientists were positive, small and mostly statistically insignificant. There is no longer a "sphere of reproduc­ tion" of labor power and social relations distinct fr om the sphere of production, which itself is no longer a sphere, but rather the web of the world with all its relations. To physically attack these fl ows, at any point, is theref o re to politically attack the system as a whole.
