Just a simple portrait of one of my newer characters Jenna O'Callaghan (the mother of my main OC). Also gave her a new hairstyle that's more appropriate for the largely 1930's-40's aesthetic I'm going for, as opposed to the old one looking more like something from the 60's.

A portrait of my female OC Jenna O'Callaghan, the mother of my main character Morgan O'Callaghan. Born with her son at quite a young age, she managed work her way up into becoming a frontrunner of physical anthropology and a key figure to what defines the current generation of the O'Callaghan family legacy. Day by day she peddles study on material of bygone eras delivered to the O'Callaghan Historical Research compound, while maintaining a vivid, eccentric, but charming attitude. Experimentation on more detailed hair I've wanted to test out on lately. The one on the left is a more "comic-friendly" take with the strands of Morgan's hairstyle, while the other is a more fully decked-out look for it.

Meet Morgan O'Callaghan! An 18 year old British-American adventurer who dons the starbilling role for what he is set to be featured in. A son of a acclaimed anthropologist for a mom and a gloomy postman for a dad, he primarily works as a photographer and documentarian of his hometown museum, mainly providing promotional and chronological material for its diverse exhibits, but this occupation of his usually extends on either cooperation with the authorities, or exploring foreign locales while dueling against foes whether old or new. Though he often demonstrates a rather sarcastic and scornful disposition which is especially evident with the frequent grumbling towards Sheffield's shortcomings, his favorable charisma and sense of humor always finds a way to maintain his reputation as a dependable chap. And even if he loves a good jab at something or opportunity at some mischief, he still retains a solid moral code, one who is more than willing to advocate the greater good in life. He also is highly articulate in arts & crafts, and has a deep adoration for modelmaking and trains. Besides the fact that he meant to echo that of Tintin, other characters who helped define his identity include Indiana Jones, young Louie Anderson, both of the Venture brothers, and myself.

For newcomers, The Gist with Morgan is a developing comic concept created as a tribute & parody to The Adventures of Tintin, as well as a revival of classic pulp adventure stories of the 1930s to early 60's, with most emphasis on interwar-era culture and some splashes of more contemporary elements intertwined. The premise revolves around the fumbling escapades of boy adventurer Morgan O'Callaghan, a photographer and documentarian whom endures all heaps of blunder & jeopardy alongside his pretentious, overconfident uncle Sheffield, their disgruntled, underzealous museum colleague Mr. Zemeckis, and their well-meaning but rather dodgy friends for handymen Will & Willis Berman. Whether following the footsteps of Sheffield's deceased father of globetrotting fame or working with the coppers on resolving cases, each situation is almost always guaranteed to get comically haphazard in one way or another. Both of which can involve the concept's perennial antagonist, Ray Reginald Royston, Sheffield's lifelong arch-enemy. Other things the concept takes influence from include Indiana Jones, Dick Tracy, The Venture Bros, and a couple other sources though not as recognizable as those three.

Presented as freelance African-American handymen, Will & Willis most frequently work as the maintenance crew for the museum our heroes are associated with, though it can't always be guaranteed they'll do their job as intended. Although they are very jolly and well-meaning in their self-proclaimed duty of always being willing to help and do the right thing, their impetuous, clumsy, and generally shoddy nature whenever they're on-task often botches what they're going for, which usually leads to only semi-successful or completely disastrous results. Even so, their improvisational wit and practical talent on fixing or constructing anything that a situation will demand can still impress their colleagues, and it is even spoken that no adventure is complete without them being on its tail. Willis is the father of the duo who is identified by his ball-shaped head and black beret while Will is the son of the duo who is identified by his pill-shaped head and sand blue cap. Characters that all played a role in defining their identity include The Talented Mr. Bixby, Pat & Mat, Thompson and Thomson, and Thurgood Stubbs from The PJs.

Glen is the father of Morgan and lifelong brother of his uncle Sheffield. Although he has been with him ever since they were toddlers, he didn't go out on adventures with Sheffield and their deceased father Brannon as much and had more of a preference to stick around at home, aiding his mother with the house responsibilities. Just like what became of his brother after Brannon died, he resorted his working life to the mundane nature of a postal carrier, always feeling bummed out about whatever runs through his mind. Nevertheless, he still likes to greet his son on a daily basis whenever he delivers the mail to where he and Sheffield live and is actually in much better physical shape than his brother currently is. Jenna is the mother of Morgan and lovely wife of his father Glen.
