You should watch The Youth Killer and you absolutely must watch The Man Who Stole The Sun. I also highly recommend checking out his two finest works as a screenwriter at Nikkatsu, Retreat Through The Wet Wasteland and Evening Primrose, as well as Tatsumi Kumashiro's film Bitterness of Youth.
