And you don't even have to wake up at 2 a.m. to get ready to hit the shelves at Walmart or Best Buy. While Black Friday proper – which falls on November 28 in 2025 – will likely offer some unmatched deals like in past years, there are plenty of price drops worth seeing just a few weeks in advance.

We've been doing a little better lately, but it is so hard. We don't get home until after 5. Then I have to walk the dog. Then try to get dinner on the table by 630, then in bed to read by 730 so lights are out by 8. Gotta plan, but also be flexible. But not TOO flexible.

Ava Martinez from Florence, Italy is making a sandwich. While doing so, Sophia Nguyen also eats so fast they hiccup loudly as someone shouts, 'Five-second rule!' from another table. Then, a gust of wind blows their food off the table.

Day 6 of our book launch week: Market day! And look at this wee stack of book beasties seen in the wild at one of our favourite writing cafes!

It's a big day today. Our regular markets for breakfast and shopping, then a country Christmas market for early present perusing.

He leaned over their table, and when you're 6'-8" you're pretty much in their face. And said "I played it. Do you have a problem with that?" while flashing his best Pvt Pyle FMJ impression. They, surprising no one, had no problem whatsoever. Picked up their pool balls, paid and split.

We'd played it bc my buddy's dad had just died and we were discussing music our dads got us into that we wound up liking despite the source of uncoolness of dads.

So hearing their BS, my bud got pissed, slammed his cue flat on the table between us...

A true Christian to admire. Man In Black is my fav Cash song. And one of my fav stories in my life was when my 6'-8" pool playing partner & I played U2 feat. Cash at pool hall in the early 90s, b4 Rubin rehabbed his image. 3 dudes on table 2 over started talking passive-agressive shit abt Cash...

Look because I was educated like a 19th century gentleman I actually did read the whole divine comedy for a class but because I’m not jackass I don’t leave it on my kitchen table when people come over

DAE think it’s weird that in attempts to encourage civil discourse, the specific words and repudiation of those illegal acts, is now used to shield the same people who decried that moderation as “woke?”

What’s on your ‘ta da’ list for this week?!

I have:

1. Been working on a book chapter
2. Done some more data analysis
3. Cleared the kitchen table (no joke, it was horrific!)
4. Presented to SLT on the work we’ve done so far this year for careers
Feeling a little tired and Novembery (yes that’s a word), please share your ‘ta da’ list with me!

Like a to-do list, but the opposite! Sharing what you’ve achieved this week!

I have:
1. Sent off an article
2. Prioritised a poorly baba
3. Analysed EdD data
4. Worked with our vocational kids

I’m sure MAGA morons are already saying over diner

“Well anyway most 15 year old girls look 18 anyway so it’s totally understandable”

As they sit around the table with their parents, brothers and sisters, all married… To each other”❗️🤦🏼‍♂️
With all the shady evidence coming out (with more to follow), MAGA is pivoting from “It's a hoax! Donald Trump had no relationship with Jeffrey Epstein!” to “Yeah, what’s the big deal about trafficking 15-year-olds anyway?”

Amazing dinner of half a very tasty Japanese wagyu steak each with cauliflower cheese, and green beans. Washed down with sparkling rhubarb mead (for me, red wine for Pete). Followed by sweet, delicious pink pomelo for dessert. My belly is so happy! 😁
