You are right that it can be so frustrating. I once tried to give one of the many rescued hedgehogs 🦔🦔🦔 a home in my big and full garden. I was rejected because the neighbours have a swimmingpool. The little animals might drown.
Now I have at least 3 🦔🦔🦔 walking around. They arrived of their own...😁
