I did it.
I registered my first personal domain name in about a decade.
Always felt weird linking at large to my subdomain for the family web domain, it’ll be good to have that separation.
Not releasing it yet until I do something with it tho, sorry

It's been 4 months and I'm still so so conflicted on the idea of unlisting and rewriting older blog posts, like yeah I have them archived publicly under the "old." subdomain, but uhh, is it really a solution? what does it solve anyway? (1/?)
I think what I'd love to see is a central mod team purging *only* what's legally necessary and filtered portals with more subjective list moderation that people can always opt out of when they get upset. Possible right now but better UX to have a different domain or subdomain or something.

Right, that setup was intentional (inserted into website img src via cdn.), but our goal was still that the image itself would get indexed from the www. version not the cdn. subdomain. Intent was three-fold 1) to get all assets indexed from the primary domain 2) avoid any recrawl issues by search

altho rn it doesnt work for me without clearing cache under this domain. works on cloudflare's pages dot dev subdomain. probably whatever cloudflare does for cache busting/flushing got stuck. i havent studied if i should do cache busting myself still when on cloudflare page and im not doing any atm

It can also do reverse proxies with subdomains though. Or just set up a second reverse proxy for a subdomain. I use nginx proxy manager currently but thinking about switching to caddy for my reverse proxies. Regardless, can definitely reverse proxy a subdomain somehow.

Plugins are testy and sometimes don't play well with others. If you get a chance, sketch out what you'd like your portfolio to look like and we can discuss some options. Maybe even a subdomain site that has a similar theme but is customized for the portfolio... Tons of options.
