The Lindal Tørkle is part of my Lindal Collection and uses a cascading effect with increasingly larger short-row shapes, that are then mirrored and reversed to create a beautiful neckerchief; which can be worn similar to a cravat and tied, or pinned in the front. The pattern comes with four different variations with vector diagrams for each, allowing for a lot of creativity. Shown here against a backdrop of a light tan linen jacket and moss covered rock, is ‘Variation B’, a half version of the full scarf pattern, done with beautiful gradients from Freia Fine Handpaint Yarns. When I first started designing patterns for hand knitting, I was extremely fascinated with origami style knits. Once I learned the basic technique, I then created my own variation on the style with a triple twisted stitch, as seen here in my Ansgarius Cowl.

The Lindal Sjal, part of my Lindal Collection, is a much larger sister design to the Lindal Tørkle, featuring a beautiful cascading pattern of increasingly larger short-row shapes, that are both mirrored and reversed. Variation B. is shown here with yarn by @junctionfibermill, part of their Making Tracks Collection, in “Valley Fog”. This DK weight fiber is made with 100% American Falkland Wool. A gorgeous olive green from their Farm Fresh collection was used for the contrast line work. The model shows the long scarf wrapped once around their neck and draped over their shoulders creating a beautiful cowl in front.
