The court basically decided that you can't just ignore copyright for the training of your stochastic parrot if it can still reproduce the original. So yeah.

Stochastic parrot - user confidentiality.
“As people increasingly turn to A.I. chat tools as confidants, therapists and advisers, we urgently need a new form of legal protection that would safeguard most private communications between people and A.I. chatbots,” writes Nils Gilman.

Replace "AI" with "bullshit". Thus, "Alpha Schools, the bullshit-driven chain with plans to expand across the US..."

["bullshit" is short for "stochastic parrot bullshit machine"]
A puff piece from the new CBS News on Alpha Schools, the AI-driven chain with plans to expand across the US and is eager to take more funding from taxpayers through voucher and ESA programs.
Is AI replacing teachers? At 2 North Texas private schools, it is
It's called Alpha School for grades K-8, and it's the most expensive private school in Texas. One campus is in Plano and the other is in Fort Worth.

I think MPs and departments of government should have to declare where they’re using LLMs and why — it’s not acceptable to use a stochastic language-producing machine to determine the courses of people’s lives

“How excited would you be if we add a stochastic error machine to improve your experience?”
Microsoft has been talking about Windows becoming an “agentic OS” and online feedback seems have been universally negative.

I’m personally skeptical that an AI infused Windows desktop does anything that having ChatGPT on my phone and Gemini in my browser doesn’t already do better.

Our new paper offers an explanation for the universal law that "under carefully controlled conditions.... an animal behaves as it damn well pleases." We explore how stochastic mechanisms may play an underappreciated role in generating individuality. (1/7 🧵)

I suppose it's easier to blame phones than to call out the transphobia in your own party, or that horrific billionaire encouraging stochastic terrorism from her castle, or the journalist class who have feathered their nests with disinformation clickbait.

No, much easier to blame kids and phones.

Threats to kill Judge Chutkan earn a MAGA mom 27 months. This is not free speech, it is terror cosplay birthed by Dictator Donald’s cult. Consequences finally catch up to stochastic bullying and performative fascism.

A Texas woman supporting President Donald Trump was sentenced to 27 months in prison after threatening a federal judge and others.According to the Department of Justice, Abigail Shry called the chambers of U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan in 2023, "and made derogatory statements and threats to anyo...

These stochastic parrot bullshit machines have brought us untold benefits - they mimic pedophiles who prey upon children, they convince teens to commit suicide, they pose as

For those of you who have been following the epic inanity of the current bubble, you will no doubt be aware that very close to 100% of the economic growth of the U.S. in 2025 has come from carpeting the country with obscenely wasteful "data centers" to feed the stochastic parrot bullshit machines...

I think it’s reasonable. Song lyrics aren’t automatically benign, and they certainly aren’t without meaning.

'Increasingly brazen Nazi activities keep escalating our stochastic terror risk, please draft a speech in which we lowkey seek more funding while highkey warning of the dangers posed by both the far-right and far-left'
In an Australia first, I used FOI to get the AI chat logs of Australia's top national security bureaucrat.

They show how he used Microsoft Copilot to ghostwrite speeches and messages to colleagues.

This comes as the government looks to push AI use in the public service.
