But this one; this one is as tall as Wayne himself, with long curly hair, big brown eyes, freckles and full lips stretched into a smile that carved deep lines in his cheeks. Wayne knows that under that hat is hair full of glitter smelling of cinnamon and peppermints, and ears that end in little points. Wayne also knows that this one has been to the real world, and often, judging by his attire. He wore a battle vest full of pins and patches of metal bands, chains and holey jeans. His black boots were topped with bells on the toes, a was his pointed, striped hat. Usually, when an elf starts to look a little aged, it meant that their Holiday Spirit was dwindling- and that they would soon become just like normal adults. But when Wayne looks at him, Santa’s elf looks like he brimming over with cheerfulness. He also looks just like his long since passed, beloved sister-in-law, Elizabeth. Like a carbon copy. And it hurts.

Once he did, a familiar sent wafted over and he turned his head to sniff Eddie’s hair by burying his nose in it. “You used my conditioner.” Eddie just hummed in response and Steve smiled. “Smells good on you.” When he finally managed to drag himself away from the smell and feel of Eddie’s hair, he found the other four staring at them. “You didn’t use my hair oil, did you?” Argyle asked, sounding a little suspiciously. “Or my moisturizer?” Nancy added. Eddie frowned and opened one eye. “No. Don’t worry guys, Steve told me about all the off limits products.” The stares got more intense and Robin poked Steve in the side painfully. “Oww, Robin! What?”

There's always been something special about the Hideout. The tacky floors, the crackling speakers, the lack-lustre booze. Even in all of its poorly kept obscurity, Steve still finds some sort of solace within the confines of its grimey walls. Namely, in the men's room of all places. Where his knees ache and his jaw grows sore, and no matter how many times he comes here looking for something more, he still ends up with his desperate heart tucked away and his whorish mouth served on a silver platter to anyone who wants it through a hole carved into a graffittied bathroom stall. He's become familiar with this sort of weekend routine: wake up, shower, go for a run, run errands, do some renovations around the house, and then, once it's dark and he has nothing better to do than to be useful, he comes here. Where the bite of cigarette smoke hangs heavy in the air and billows over the bathroom stall wall separating Steve and his favourite Saturday night regular. Sure, he sucks a few dicks in the span of his typical Saturday evening, but there's always been one that's stood out amongst the crowd. Thick and long, pierced at the tip, it's unusual in the sense that it's different, not weird, more memorable if anything just for the fact that he's dreamed about sucking a guy off with such a piercing, and up until he started doing this, he never has. Metallic on the tip of his tongue and down the back of his throat, the only thing that could possibly make the experience better is if the guy would shove his dusty work boot beneath the stall wall so that Steve would have something more than his own groping hand to bring himself to his undoing. He's never talked to any of the guys, that's the thing about doing this in a small town, no one wants to be perceived as something they believe that they're not. Except for Ole Thick Dick. It'd started as quiet moans and shuddered gasps, but eventually, as their encounters became a regular thing, the man started speaking in more than just wh

The garage is open at the Harrington residence when Eddie arrives, and he pulls in next to Steve’s car. He doesn’t grab anything except his cigarettes out of the cup holder before getting out and hitting the button on the wall to shut the door. He uses his key — yes, he has a key, everyone in the monster hunting party has one — and lets himself in. “Eddie?” he hears Steve's voice echolocating from the living room. “Actually, it’s Brother Tim,” Eddie calls back, kicking his shoes off and scooping them up as he walks toward the voice. “I wanted to know if you have a minute to talk about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” “I didn’t realize Mormons did B&E now,” Steve snarks. “We’ve gotten more persistent.”

He’d caught himself…staring…several times. At a long, lithe line of a body in dark clothes and leather, with tattoos scattered on pale skin. A bandana tucked in his back pocket just enough that it swung without falling—that when it swung, Steve noticed. Or when long fingers bedecked in silver rings twirled strands among a mess of wild, dark curls. Steve knew when he walked in the room. If he wasn’t paying attention, he physically perked up toward the door just as he crossed the threshold. His scent, this mix of mossy forest and rain and smoke, traveled across the room. Steve’s chest hurt—ached enough he had to press a hand against his sternum—when class ended and they walked opposite ways down the hall. His new senses hadn’t acted like this with the kids. Sure, when he had them all at the house or piled in the Beemer, the animal thing in his chest rumbled, pleased and warm. When they began telling him about sprinting home in fear of some asshole called Billy, his jaw ached from keeping his fangs in. He’d fucking growled. Steve hardly knew this guy. The one invading his senses, burrowing in under muscle and bone.

“I told you we were getting you a coat if we saw one. I mean, there’s a pink one back here too, if you’d prefer—” “No. Fine. Yellow it is.” Eddie grumbled back, crumbling backward dramatically and arching his back in a way that made Steve’s cheeks burn and his mind take a turn for the gutter, “You want your clothes back that bad?” With a roll of his eyes, he folded the puffy coat over his arm, gently prying the basket from Eddie’s fingers with a steadying breath, “Nah.” He shrugged, using his free hand to adjust the collar of the flannel. This was the moment, right? Maybe? “You do look good in my clothes though, Eddie - you should try color more often.” Steve waited for Eddie reprimand him, to be sarcastic, hell - even for him to push away, but instead his eyes lit up and loveliest pink blossomed over his face, “Maybe I will.” He whispered back, soft between them, before a clearing of a throat startled them both - jolting them apart. “Thanks, sorry, just need to—” An exhausted looking man in a suit muttered apologetically, shifting the snoring toddler on his hip so he could reach past them to grab a small, rolled blanket from the aisle they’d settled next to, “Carry on, gentlemen.”
