이와 같은 대기 상층이 영향을 주는 시점은 대략 10일 가량 걸리니, 1월 중순에서 말엽이 되면 한기는 꽤나 크게 물러갈 것으로 보입니다.

그리고 12월 중순에 있었던 SSW보다 지금 일어난 SSW의 영향 자체가 크지 않은 것도 있습니다. 당장 오늘 북극 한파의 범위와 1월 4일 모델을 비교해보면 여전히 편서풍은 요동치고 있어도, 꽤나 한 점에 잘 집중된 것이 보이죠. 편서풍이라는 마개만 잘 막아지면 지독한 추위는 물러갈 것으로 보입니다.
