Day 7 of the #NoirvemberChallenge by @ladykdesigns.bsky.social - Favourite #filmnoir dream sequence
The incredible visuals in Spellbound (1945) dir. Alfred Hitchcock and designed by surrealist artist Salvador Dali. Giving Lynchian madness mixed with "We cut off your Johnson!"

Odd Man Out (1947)

Starts out with James Mason seeing faces talking to him in the beer bubbles spilled across a pub table...

#NoirvemberChallenge 7 > My Favorite Noir dream sequence

Created by Salvador Dali for the psychological noir, Spellbound, his dream sequences highlighted how we communicate with ourselves while sleeping. Starring Ingrid Bergman, Gregory Peck & Leo G. Carroll. Directed by Hitchcock.

Day 7 #NoirvemberChallenge Favorite #filmnoir dream sequence?

Spellbound (1945). Alfred Hitchcock enlisted Salvador Dalí to design the dream sequence, merging Surrealism with Hollywood. Dalí’s haunting, floating eyes, faceless figures, and melting landscapes brought psychoanalysis to life.

This is a book I'd read anyway, but the reason I have to own a physical copy of it is 100% the cover. Every time I'm spellbound by a cover it's a lino/woodcut, and I'm amazed ad algos haven't zeroed in on that particular weakness in me yet
Um, yes, please...
A million times, yes. 💙📚🩸

"From British and World Fantasy award-winning writer and editor Dan Coxon, Come Sing for the Harrowing is an uncanny folk horror collection for fans of John Langan and Robert Aickman."

…of music, a mix of recognisably classical religious music, jazz improvisation, choral sections, operatic arias, big band segments… And the conductor, Robert Dora, was astonishing. Everyone in the audience was spellbound.

Literally only watched the last few minutes and was spellbound by Carr's psychological domination over everyone. This is what Dusty Rhodes wanted when he had everyone put him over in promos in the 1980s
Alan carr winning the game and then winning psychologically by forcing the others to forgive him immediately....total superiority

Day 7 of #NoirvemberChallenge

“Favorite Film Noir Dream Sequence”

I love Salvador Dali and Hitchcock’s “Spellbound”. Amazing work.

HOWEVER-

“Stranger on the Third Floor” also has a great work of surrealism, music, and shadows.

Raven hair and ruby lips
Sparks fly from her fingertips
Echoed voices in the night
She's a restless spirit on an endless flight

Woo hoo, ____________
See how high she flies
Woo hoo, ____________
She got the moon in her eye

She held me spellbound in the night (Woo-ooh)

#NoirvemberChallenge day 7: favourite #FilmNoir dream sequence - of course it has to be Avida Dollars and Hitch, Spellbound (1945). I love this not only for the comic strip surrealism, but also Miklós Rósza's theremin soaked soundtrack. youtu.be/JyPe1Jahyfo?...

Your cries muffled by their softness , they begin to wriggle and bounce. They don’t even notice you, still spellbound by the spiral. Youre fighting for air and for your mind. You feel yourself start to slip… soon you’ll melt for their ass just as they melted for my spiral.

And I’ll have you both ❤️

This book! Whew! Toni was doing more of her big one with this novel. This is my first time reading it and I am spellbound by it, more than I have been on any other Morrison book I’ve read
