Even funnier (IIRC), the only reference to Tracy in any subsequent Bond film is in the opening sequence to Moonraker, where Roger Moore is leaving flowers at her grave, and a guy who seems to be (dead) Blofeld tries to kill Bond and gets dumped down a smokestack. Has nothing to do with the plot.

It would be much easier, politically, to preserve a smokestack than build housing, but no, it went when the desal plant and new power plant (which doesn't need it) were built, and it's good it's gone.

How did the writers deal w/ Blofeld being dropped in a smokestack & coming back 30yrs later as Cristoph Waltz? Must have missed some exposition in a deleted scene. Like, is the cat okay? Did the smokestack drop cure Blofeld of whatever put him in a wheelchair? Think it would help with my sciatica?

You're right - definitely near the smokestack, though I think it's unlikely that a modern factory would retain such an old kiln and attach a smokestack to it. Maybe it's just outside the building, kept for decorative purposes? (More details on the image in the alt text)
