#sickpay
Just read about a woman who had three full time positions and a part-time job and collected sickpay (and partially bonuses) from all of them, all the while being a single mum with two kids.

And now I feel like a slacker for just getting sick pay from a single company.

Farm workers are "supposed to" get 5 paid sick days a year. Non-union workers have been telling us that's not happening. Donate to help workers win union contracts where their legal rights are respected. act.seiu.org/a/sickpay?ms... #WeFeedYou

Not able to be used when we all have jobs that pay less than a living wage and yet we somehow still have to survive. I have a job that doesn't give me PTO, sickpay or anything like that money makes the world around and you need it to survive well we're kind of f*****.

Yes, we do I agree, but unfortunately, that will not pay enough or continuously for a tenth of pop.on sickpay at the levels the UK alone are seeing. It leads to higher debt (bonds) borrowing which is an opportunity cost too. Hard Left as Guardian denying massive state cost of 1/10 employees on sick.

No one is saying stop money to genuine cases ! But socialists should be intervening to encourage more to work as most democracies do,not sending out mthly cheques to those not looking or have no one helping with their aspirations & goals. 4M on sickpay is wasteful for 1 in 10 of our working ppl.

Does #NigelFarage stand for #workersrights? Improved #sickpay? Cutting #fuelduty? No he does not. He voted against these measures.

Farage will not vote for working people - he will vote against them.

Extending sick pay to low-income workers is a fair and necessary change, don't you think? No one should have to choose between their health and their paycheck. How can we give businesses support so they can keep up? #ahsbem2at #sickpay #workersrights

Last month, we joined civil society organisations, businesses, trade unions and affected workers to deliver a card signed by thousands of affected workers and families to No.10

We're encouraging Peers to support Baroness Lister's #sickpay amendment on Tuesday [3/3]

Just found the wildest "2 things can be true" illustration - my 2 things: COVID situation is better than past AND we should fight COVID with better ventilation as standard, sickpay, & normalised masking in addition to vax; we'll win either way on something

Baroness Lister just highlighted to @houseoflords.parliament.uk
that the Government's #SickPay plans will have unintended consequences for low paid workers.

Unless wording on removal of the Lower Earnings Limit is changed, some workers - especially women and disabled people - will be worse off.

"Statutory sick pay is the lowest in Europe & the lowest paid have been excluded, meaning they cannot afford to stay home when sick. As we saw during COVID, that endangers public health."

Great to hear Baroness O'Grady highlight in
@houseoflords.parliament.uk today the need for higher #SickPay!

The UK government's plan to reform disability benefits is a joke!

Forcing people who are too sick/disabled to work into jobs?

Let's speak up!
