I don't know, I'd be way more jazzed to open a stunning Rebecca Guay Headliner card without the serialization attached. It detracts from the aesthetic of the card in my opinion, I prefer in-Magic releases to have Headliners without serialization - Sothera, the Supervoid is a great example of this.

Jackson 3 lands in Spring Boot 4! The new JsonMapper replaces ObjectMapper with immutable, thread-safe configs. Better date handling, unchecked exceptions for cleaner lambdas, and JSON views for precise serialization control.

I don't think non-Universes Beyond releases have the same pull when it comes to card serialization compared to Universes Beyond ones. There's no doubt Magic is turning into a collector's game, but that's because of the pull of Universes Beyond (and let's be honest, FINAL FANTASY).

Guess what I'm trying to say is, I don't think a serialized Rebecca Guay Headliner card adds any actual value (not monetarily) compared to printing the same thing without it.

I'd prefer serialization more in Universes Beyond sets as it serves a broader audience, but that's a minefield in itself.

A/S/L by @jeannethornton.bsky.social If you, like me, are a certain flavor of a neuroweird trans woman, this reads like a serialization of stuff I’ve never been able to express before. For everyone else: this is a beautiful tender book. Read it

There's two eras of Bond. Everything before Craig was hand-wavey, who cares, the audience will figure it out, or not, whatever.

But the Craig era brought modern continuity. True serialization. Even character development. It feels weird to just announce we're back to "vibes"

Naver WEBTOON: "Although extremely rare, even if serialization does not proceed, we compensate the creators for the work produced. Claims of unpaid labor are, therefore, inappropriate and untrue."

I know we're quickly moving towards Avatar's release, but I've been thinking about Lorwyn Eclipsed a bunch (I mean, who hasn't?).

One thing that's been slightly bugging me about the Headliner card (Bitterbloom Bearer) is the serialization tag. It looks a bit lost on a Rebecca Guay card.

What serialization there is tends to be limited to a particular actor's run.

Focusing on "what happened to Daniel Craig Bond?" is just going to drag down any attempts to launch the next iteration of the series (and, imo, be inherently nonsensical or add canon where none needs exist)

Bonus: it has a full episode about what a publicist does for novel releases and how novel serialization & martyring work! So nerd cool!

Adding the vision checks meant that the old "store in texture" version needed to be upgraded.

The data itself wasn't bad, but storing it on disk took a couple of versions. Best of all, it compresses into basically nothing!

there was this hank green video I watched where he somehow reinvented the concept of light novel serialization. which is funny but I do want that to be more of a thing globally. and by globally I mean the philippines

Maybe it's because of March of the Machine and the four-dozen different serialized cards you could open, but I've always felt serialization was misplaced with in-Magic sets.

It feels more Universes Beyond than in-Magic, I think you need to be more deliberate and do the opposite with in-Magic sets.

http/3 + link rel/modulepreload + Compression Dictionary Transport could be a pretty viable alternative to Web Bundles... In a way a web bundle is just a serialization of an http/3 stream.

The benefit of link rel/modulepreload is that the browser uses its cache first...

offline note taking app with the new Exporter and slick CSS with the new themes! Uses dexie.js to get cross-session persistence and cross-tab sync. Mutable FileAttachments for file serialization. Includes technical documentation as its more a demo of holding state across sessions and exports

For anyone interested:
- open source
- uses godot-rust
- uses a multi-threaded vfs (but scene updates can/do hitch)
- serialization is r/w capable

Not much of a Godot guru, so I'm open to ideas on how to try to speed things up and make some resources editable/exportable back to JC2 (or elsewhere).
