Okay. Likes etc for #SecretSantaAoNZ … main hobbies are reading, cross-stitch, Dragon Age and colouring. Favourite colour is red and I like cats. Love a good bargain so secondhand, homemade is more than fine. Also enjoy movies and a good procedural drama. No allergies and my fave is milk chocolate.

I’ve read 38! I’m pretty sure I’ll never get to 100% because even if I finally get around to finishing the secondhand hardback of “Ulysses” I bought in 1979 (I think I made it to around page 40?), there’s no way I’ll ever get through “Finnegan’s Wake” 😄

I mean, it isn't "joining in" voluntarily. It's an empathy response, like how many people will involuntarily wince in pain when they see someone else get hurt.
Secondhand embarrassment is like a social version of that. Not really something someone actively chooses to feel.

Or maybe it's that he's so over-the-top with his entire shtick when everyone else has shown compassion/sincerity or is amoral to the core, but with an edge of humanity or hilarity that I don't buy Alastor as anything but a secondhand embarrassment.

i guess it's not that unusual for any online secondhand marketplace or the like, but it is annoying to use sometimes because of the userbase and then all these fees + shipping is priced per item by default, not bundled together, so that is something to be very aware of because it can add up quickly
