To be clear, when boiling vinegar or vinegar solution, you want to occasionally gently scraping the pan to get the crustier bits off. And the goal is not to get it totally clean but to get it to a point where you can scrub the rest off.

IMO 23 is still scraping into the kid zone way too much. Whenever there exists such a disparity where one of them is still quite fresh into independent life, I have to call into question why the older person is making that choice.
