#rotoscoping
Rotoscoping is a very underrated art style that doesn't really deserve the flack that it gets, IMO. Besides, look at what this equally underrated band was able to do with it! youtu.be/NH84gwVJ7p0

Sudden rotoscoping in cartoons is so awesome cause its taking established logic of "oh well since its all drawn theyre going to take the path of least resistance to keep on schedule or fix and flub ups in the final stretch and introduces like, the cartoon version of an uncanny valley. Love love it

I've never done rotoscoping before, and it was fun to both dance and trace over my dancing for this assignment.

The song is "Flash Light" by Parliament.

I've been working on a couple of commissions where I have to do this rotoscoping scenes of 1 guy standing still in a lot of shots (the project looks awesome btw), and now that I saw my tablet, I noticed the silhouette is marked on it

Watched A Scanner Darkly

Curious how time can distort perception of a film's visual style. In 2006, this movie rotoscoping technique was novel. Today, to me, it looks like a dogshit instagram filter. I hate saying that due to the sheer work put in, but I found it ugly and not in a good way.

I might have 1or2 lingering Environment things to eventually show. Otherwise i've just got to finish up that rotoscoping practice piece, update software and rebuild my workflow.
Then we enter a new exciting chapter of random art projects

There are so many things I wanted to make already but then the idea of rotoscoping a dance with DD came to me and now I can’t stop thinking about it.

LEVI'S - THE STRANGER (1971): This psychedelic Levi jeans advert is a beautifully animated work of art (rotoscoping in action!). Spoken word jazz legend Ken Nordine provides the cool voiceover.

a-ha's "Take On Me" video blends pencil-sketch animation with live-action through rotoscoping, a frame-by-frame tracing technique that gives characters lifelike movement. 3,000 frames were rotoscoped, taking 16 weeks to finish.

I absolutely love rotoscoping. It's so unique and wonderful, and on top of that over the garden wall is amazing. I watch it every halloween with friends.

The proportions of Evas shifted in general about the time of EoE - to better facilitate rotoscoping has always been my guess - but a side-by-side of fairly accurate TV/Rebuild models is still kind of startling.
