$“Your phone number?” he clarified. “If you manage to get tickets to the touring production,” Annette said. “You just give me a call.” Felix raised an eyebrow. “And what if I can’t get tickets?” he asked, feeling suddenly a bit nervous. Surely he could pull some strings for a musical about cats that wanted to go to heaven or something. Annette blinked at him for a moment, processing the question. Then she gave him the sweetest smile he’d ever seen and slipped the pen back into his jacket pocket. “Then you just give me a call, anyway,” she said. Felix looked down at the receipt and nodded, smiling slightly to himself. Slowly, carefully, he folded the receipt, then leaned forward, fractionally closer than Annette had been leaning in towards him all evening, and slipped the receipt into the pocket of his jacket, which she was still wearing. He let his fingers linger, grasping the inside of the pocket gently. “I just might,” he murmured.$

Claude von Riegan was on a routine scouting mission to keep the Almyran trade routes safe when Ingrid Galatea flew into him and ruined everything.

If they can stop arguing for 30 seconds this might end up being the best worst thing that’s ever happened to them.

A shadow fell across her, and Ingrid looked up to see Claude standing over her, looking down at her with his head tilted to the side, like a cat that had just spotted something interesting in the distance. His eyebrows were knit together in curiosity, or perhaps confusion, but as Ingrid shifted to look up at him, his eyes shifted into an emotion far too pleased for Ingrid’s taste – she would code it, uncharitably, as “sparkling in amusement.”

Summary:

Marianne von Edmund has little desire to travel to Goneril during war time, but her best friend and her father have insisted. It should be an easy journey, but the margrave has insisted on an escort, all the same.

Ashe Ubert is meant to be training as a knight for House Rowe, but he finds himself stranded in Fraldarius with no money and no route home. An simple escort mission for an Alliance House seems an easy enough way to make money.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) for them both, neither the past nor the present are as easy as they seem.

“The boy from the village said she was a noble,” the leader continued, not bothering to wait for Ashe to try another lie. “House Edmund. Does she have a Crest? I’m a generous man; help us find her, and there might be enough ransom to split. I’m sure she’s worth more than your weekly wages.”

“Go to hell,” Ashe snapped.

The bandit leader swung his arm, striking Ashe across the face with the back of his hand. Ashe recoiled and wavered as he regained his balance. He coughed, nearly doubling over, and spat something that looked disturbingly like blood onto the ground. He returned the bandit’s glare once again, breathing heavily, his bangs sticking against his forehead at disjointed angles.

“Go . . . to hell,” Ashe repeated, enunciating each syllable.

Someday I will write my Claudgrid manifesto (no they are NOT your bickering boomer parents!) but until then my writing will have to suffice. They are a bg ship in a few of my Dimileth fics, but for the scuffle I finally wrote smth just for them. Set in GW Hopes so they have *plenty* to fight about

But at least after tonight they’ll never see each other again. (So they think.)

Sylvain nudged him again. “So, did you two have a nice talk? She seemed a little scattered but she might be willing to listen to you talk about swords for literal years if you really hit it off.”

“She told me I was a creep with no friends and recommended that I never talk again,” Felix said flatly, his voice hidden under the round of applause as Hanneman announced another award.

Sylvain gave a low whistle. “After five minutes? That’s almost impressive.”

“I gave you the short version,” Felix added. “I think she had some more feedback lined up but we didn’t really get the chance to unpack it.”
