Really sad to see that Dave Allen has passed. He and bandmate Andy Gill pretty much created the sound that is the archetype for the genre "postpunk": Gill's slashing, abrasive guitars, and Allen's fat, funky/slinky bass were about as influential as it gets. Both gone now. RIP.
