I recently had dinner with friends whom I’ve known since 4th grade. Catching up as a group on their kids, divorces, and how stupid we all were but how we each tapped into our potential selves… life always feel quite long when retold with these friends. I’m so happy you reconnected.

That’s a valid perspective. We all can’t like the same thing. And to tell you the truth, I never liked how they retold the Battle of Gods and Resurrection F movies into mediocre arcs for Super.

Like most folklore & myth, the stories get retold to fit the world as perceived today. As you say, if you want Grimdark, Robin should be a Batman flawed hero, & the addition of Nasir, Azeem, or Djaq provides the Islam/the outsider as friend-not-foe. Marian is indeed a late addition as warrior woman.

When the media solely focuses on the RED-S diagnosis, what happens is that her story, that is very much about the deeply painful battle with eating disorders, is being retold without actually naming that struggle at all. 😑🤷🏻♀️
