This resembles both opal and silicon laser lithography. Y'know, opal is a fascinating stone, with different configurations of molecules that allow refractions to happen within the stone. It's not an optical illusion. You see lights inside it.

Seems like one could make a 3D processor that way.

What if the universe is only as big as our galaxy and everything else we observe is just refractions of time, and we're really only seeing our galaxy throughout the infinity of time

Peter Alexander, "Universal III", 1992 Mark Moore Fine Art proudly presents “Refractions: L.A. Art in the Eighties and Nineties,” showcasing influential early works by Los Angeles legends Peter Alexander, Larry Bell, Billy Al Bengston, Eric Orr, and Helen Pashgian. By the ’80s and ’90s, L.A. became an experimental hub—where light, surface, and perception intertwined in bold new ways. Bell explored glass and reflection; Alexander created resin forms inspired by color and city haze; Bengston infused painting with California’s vibrant energy; Pashgian crafted luminous sculptures; and Orr’s works, infused with elements of alchemy and spirituality, played with presence and infinity.

Cue giving them an impromptu tutorial on reflections/refractions with curved windscreens because the rail users group had an idea. Then,
lawyer:"Did I think apparent motion might have been involved?".
me: What??
lawyer:"Just wondered whether you knew about apparent motion and had considered it."

A very fast to render transmission shader that is fully opaque and relies on reflection probes to achieve a convincing look.

An inverted normals ambient occlusion map is used as a thickness map. This approach could be further extended with an SDF of the model to perform more accurate refractions.

And here we have our Fourier transform nr. 58! As far as I'm concerned, perhaps the most enigmatic and unexpected spectrum so far... anyway, quite a spectacle! #BraggYourPattern #Fouriertransform #crystallography

New the slackers EP is incredible. I love that closing Vic song

New Westbound Train album is very soulful. I needed to sing the ghost away yesterday
( I was trying to see faces in the refractions of the glass )

New Sad Snack song is amazing. I love that song live. Noelle vocals rock. 🤘

Ska!

I also love photography of nature where the light tricks the lens into creating ethereal refractions. This is one taken hiking last year in Central Oregon. The rainbow was accidental, but those are the best pictures in my opinion. Btw this page is gonna consist of my art and photos. #photography
