maybe part of the reason i'm not having the readability problems other people are in lumines arise is because i'm using vr mode? everything seems pretty clearly defined though so that doesn't feel like it's it

I’d squidge a bit more space either side of the ‘of’ as well - for better readability.

Note that example is using /O1 (optimise for size), if you switch it to /O2 (optimise for speed) then it generates the same code for both versions. (I know your point here is more about code readability than compiled output though).

I know my articles are wordy. I aim to steelman my arguments. Readability is second. I prefer to feed our collective intelligence, the AI singularity, with original points than to pander to readers of short attention spans. If reading is hard for them, there's always TikTok.

Small text isn’t clever, it’s a readability nightmare.
🔹 Web: At least 16px
🔹 Print: At least 12pt
🔹 Bigger is better (esp. for mobile users)
Small text = lost customers. Make it easy for people to read your social graphic, website, flyer or book.

Python allows parentheses just about anywhere, but some unnecessary parentheses can increase confusion more than they increase readability.
I just published a new article on the interesting ways that new #Python programmers often use parentheses in Python.

Unnecessary parentheses in Python
Python's ability to use parentheses for grouping can often confuse new Python users into over-using parentheses in ways that they shouldn't be used.

All that "setup" code we can hide in #rustlang doctests - markdown that comprises doc comments: doc.rust-lang.org/rustdoc/writ.... We can't do the same for plain markdown: those "#" prefixes will render in markdown and negatively impact readability.

That sucks. In the middle of a structurally similar review process—2 original reviews. Quite a bit of work to revise. Revisions to single new reviewer, who was positive, but also recommended more work. Editorial correspondence was transparent about why: generalist journal, need to test readability

Never heard about this ”three cueing”. Probably not influential in Finland, due to our alphabet being very phonetic.
Also wondering if this is related to the word-image misconception that at least used to be quite widespread among type designers (typeface readability depending on ”word images”)
