In terms of Frankenstein discourse not enough people are bringing up the episode of Highlander: The Series where Lord Byron is an immortal who Mary Shelley, during a weekend orgy, witnesses die and resurrect after absorbing the quickening of another immortal he beheads and that gives her the idea.

Movie was so disappointing it drove me to the point of creation
Jayce's heart slammed against his ribs, his breath quickening as his mind raced for a way to make it stop. But there was no stopping it now. The creature moved. Not in the graceful, controlled manner of a human, but in violent, erratic jerks. It staggered forward, and Jayce instinctively took a step back, the cold, metallic clink of the creature's limbs scraping against each other echoing in the room. No. This was wrong. This was not Viktor. It was a corpse, a collection of remnants, stitched together into something unnatural. Jayce could feel his stomach lurch, a wave of nausea rising in his throat as he took in the horrific sight before him. This was not the friend he had spent years with. This was not the man who had shared his ambitions, his dreams, his thoughts in quiet moments over the years. This was a thing, an empty shell of flesh that had been torn apart and carelessly shoved back together. A low, guttural rasp escaped from the creature's throat, as though it were trying to speak, but it couldn't. It could barely even move without seeming to break. The limbs shifted again, jerking upward like a broken marionette, and the neck twisted too far, cracking in a sickening way. The face - the face Jayce had painstakingly preserved — was vacant, devoid of anything but the faintest flicker of recognition. Jayce's mouth went dry as the creature turned, its head tilting to the side, those hollow eyes locking onto him, unblinking. The horrible, mechanical rasping sound rose again as the creature lurched forward, its limbs creaking under the strain. It took a step. Then another. And another. And with every step, the grotesque nature of the thing became more undeniable. The skin stretched too thin in places, revealing the blackened, decaying muscle beneath. The stitching pulled tight in some areas and loosened in others, making it look as if the thing could fall apart at any moment. Its joints creaked with the effort of every movement, as though its body was fighting against itself. "Viktor?" Jayce whispered, but his voice was barely a sound, the word heavy with disbelief, a plea for the man he had once known to come back from the abyss. But the creature only jerked its head, its eyes blinking slowly, uncomprehending. It didn't recognize him. Not truly. Jayce's chest tightened as the truth hit him — this thing, this body that looked like Viktor, was not Viktor at all. Viktor was gone. Jayce had pulled the pieces of him together, but no amount of science, no amount of Hextech magic could bring back the soul. All he had created was a twisted mockery of the man he had loved. A terrible, suffocating dread washed over Jayce. His hands shook as he stumbled backward, instinctively fleeing from the creature he had created, but he couldn't move fast enough. It followed him. The creature's jerking, mechanical movements were erratic, but it was relentless. It reached for him with one of its arms - longer than the other, the fingers crooked, the skin already beginning to rot — and Jayce flinched, a cold sweat breaking out across his brow.

Cool, dry, crystalline air swept from the savannahs of the Everglades to a turquoise sea. The sodden, blanketing heat of summer was wrung out of the atmosphere and replaced by the crisp clarity of autumn. There were only a few thin plumes of cloud at the horizon of an azure sky bright enough to make you sneeze. It was time to get smug again. Winter has already arrived up north. Wednesday it was 31 in Chicago, 35 in Albany, 34 in Indianapolis, 35 in Cleveland and a no-fooling 27 in Minneapolis. Not so, here. In South Florida Wednesday night and Thursday morning, it was 60 degrees at Miami International Airport, 56 in North Dade County and 56 in Homestead. The quickening weather came with a mass of cool, dry air that overspread South Florida Wednesday. “It was a nice shot of northern air,” said Bob Case, lead forecaster at the National Hurricane Center in Miami. The humidity dropped, too; it was down to 45 percent Thursday. What does it mean? Generally speaking, that goblets of daiquiris didn’t sweat Thursday. Neither did most people. I do not think I’ve ever seen a national politician being this comfortable being this publicly and grotesquely racist in my lifetime. It’s more reminiscent of conservative radio shows in the 80’s. Hard not to see this as the descent backwards quickening.

I think in the current age of so many choices for entertainment (or time wasting), the owners of these properties feel like they have to keep bombarding us with new stuff to stay relevant.

Not realizing they're diluting/sullying the epicness of the originals by putting out tons of subpar content.
