I'm less confident I understand what's happening with this Peace Proposal Saga than I was three episodes into Severence season 1.
Perhaps because like in that show, several of the key protagonists appear to be operating on about half a brain.

It’s so funny that Parasite Eve 3 is an over the shoulder cover shooter with squad tactics and fully rendered Final Fantasy angst cutscenes. 2010s female action horror protagonists loved to be like who am I? My memories were genetically altered to make me more efficient at dual wielding pistols.

okay okay one more thing that annoys me in a lot of hetmantasy: why dont these women have friends?!? why are the only people they hang out with men who are sexually attracted to them?? thats weird! and not how the vast majority of straight women behave!!

I would give them a little more leeway in terms of "man the setting implies politics that the protagonists cannot always meaningfully change" but nobody ever wants to write the romance of a baronet couple in the boonies. It's empresses, goddesses, duchesses, etc. Every Fucking Time.

Some of the greatest shows of all time feature absolutely detestable main characters who remain horrible throughout the entire series. Mad Men, Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, Mr. Robot, True Detective, Succession, all starring miserable cunts who suck shit. But those protagonists are men, so 😊
