this came about because I peek in on r/ProgrammerHumor and it seems like there's pushback against the AI slop but for a while it was just a bunch vibe coders making terrible unfunny jokes about their LLMs as if it was their cat or something

In the first K&R "C Programming Language" manual, from 1988, if you look up "recursion" in the index, among the instances of its occurrence in the text, the index also lists the index page for the index listing of "recursion."
