#planocraniid
Boverisuchus meanwhile is a planocraniid, a family of Eusuchia (or maybe even Crocodilia) that ranged across essentially all of former Laurasia, with members having been found in the USA, Europe and China.
If you're unfamiliar with the name, its basically Pristichampsus

Art by Nix. Love these depictions even if Sebecus is a bit too chubby. #archosaurs #crocodile

New paper just came out earlier and I am happy to see two silhouettes of mine come to use. Duerosuchus representing planocraniids and Trilophosuchus...representing atoposaurids? Well I'm not complaining lmao

I have also noticed that, when they are compared to Sebecus, the eusuchian planocraniids - also are different. The latter have a lower skull, though they are also ziphodont. Planocraniid hindlimbs do indicate improved terresteial locomotion, so they aren't miscategorised.

In a Bridgerian age tropical forest, in North America, the commonest big predator, was the slow running ambush predator, Patriofelis. Hyaenodonts, machairoidines, and stem carnivores, were all too small to be called large, <15 kgs. However, Mesonyx and planocraniid land crocs were also sympatric.

For the third time a silhouette I put up on Phylopic made it into a publication and I couldn't be happier. The silhouette in question being that little planocraniid (Duerosuchus)
