Easy Effects 8.0, dřívější Pulse Effect, přináší nativní PipeWire filtry
Vývojář Wellington Wallace, jinak také profesor fyziky, vydal novou verzi nástroje dříve známého jako Pulse Effect. Po čerstvém přechodu od GTK4 ke Qt/QML/Kirigami a od GStreameru k nativním filtrům pro PipeWire (což jsou hlavní novinky osmé verze vedoucí k výrazné změně vzhledu aplikace, včetně lepšího běhu na obrazovkách s nízkým rozlišením), už pod názvem Easy Effects 8.0 přináší další vylepšení.
Kupříkladu grafy tak nově využívají vykreslování pomocí Qt Graphs, aplikace v tuto chvíli používá pouze Qt předvolby barev (může se v budoucnu změnit), přibyly klávesové zkratky (včetně globálních) i řada opravených chyb.
Doplňme, že výběr filtrů v Easy Effect je už hodně bohatý, kromě věcí typu Auto gain, Bass enhancer / Bass loudness, Compressor, Equalizer, Loudness či Noise reduction tu najdeme zhruba dvacítku dalších efektů, které se mohou v řadě situací hodit, a to nejen, chybí-li dané možnost například v přehrávači hudby, ale i v situaci, kdy na reprobedýnkách chybí regulace basů a výšek.
Nástroj je buď dostupný v balíčkovacích systémech distribucí, nebo jej lze stáhnout z Flathubu.

i managed to solve the other problem, namely: arecord wants device control, but linux mint comes with pipewire. uh oh!
solution: drop arecord (which has a "duration" parameter) for pw-record (which doesn't).
works great in my shell! fails as soon as i use it in a systemd job. fun.

Estuve mucho rato tratando de ajustar algo en pulse audio, al final dije "Bueno, cambiemos a pipewire", fue aún peor... al final me harté de ambas cosas y he vuelto a usar alsa directamente como hacía en artix xD

Estuve mucho rato tratando de ajustar algo en pulse audio, al final dije "Bueno, cambiemos a pipewire", fue aún peor... al final me harté de ambas cosas y he vuelto a usar alsa directamente como hacía en artix xD

i figured out how to use VLC to stream input jack audio so now i can:
soundburger -> pipewire/pulseaudio -> VLC (+ webcam feed of soundburger) -> discord stream
