snippet from working project: (tw: conversation about dysphoria.) Play with the emotions of a religious man and he will break. Some easier than others. The harder ones need incentive. Then there are the ones that teeter to and fro. All they need is just a little push, some truth to their lie. And as they stand here, Aramastus pushing himself further from that of the rising general, the story begins to make sense. Down in that hell, he witnessed terror. In those lower cells, Aramastus watched as the gods of death made their way through, clad in black and gold, some holding the blank face of someone beautiful and others of ripe, molting decay. An innocent soul was he, yes, but so were many of they… sent to die simply because a king cared nothing for their actions. Of course some shed blood for the sake of joy, but did they not deserve council or fair trial? Was death their only option? He feels sick. “You ignored me—” I feel sick seeing myself. I see a different body and a face of unexplained misery. I am not leaving you because I hate you, I’m leaving you because I need to fix myself. To be happy again and only then can we rejoin.

the realization after being turned into a vampire. it has been a personal experimental scene concept where the mc has not really noticed anything different about themselves until that point and now it's extreme reactions to a mild inconvience.

the text in the screenshot reads as such: It’s quiet again once he’s stepped through the thicket of the forest wall, all he can hear is the sound of his breathing and the pitter-patter of the rain around him… They are still there, however. He cannot see their faces, but they’re closer to the ground this time. The figures are all clad in black armor, the helms wide open to nothing but dark smoke that poured free in clouds, all of it glittered like that of the cold fog he saw in his dream. They stand around him in neat, motionless lines, weapons down and shoulders broad. Slowly, as the Oracle crept through the unspeaking guards, he’s greeted with a pit, one shallow yet ripe with a fetor that twists knots in his stomach. A pit filled with disembodied hands and wet, fleshy bones of faceless innocents. There are limbs with muscle and no skin, heads with no familiar features—some missing eyes, others missing the other side of their face. Mohan Ívarr had seen the burned bodies of the living… He has never seen a feeding pit.

However, there was one. She stood with Dominique, fingers of flesh and crystal tangling themselves with his. A head shorter than he, she found her head rested upon his shoulder. Never once looking up towards the knight, she gave sound to a heavy breath and clenched her hand further, “Let them not persuade you with trinkets of gold and jade. You are not supposed to be here… neither is he. He will make it out, but his body will not make it home. You must allow him to return to glory.” “Then you must be as deluded as they are if you think I will let him go willingly.” The woman shifts, her head cocking up to face him fully, the sight of her almost taking his breath away. Chunks of her face are gone…? In the sense of a statue that has been cracked, that is. She held one eye, bright and blue, but the other one was a void of stone and crystal, sparkling away like glitter on a black floor. The gaping line traveled down her cheek and left a cavern in her chest. Unlike the rest of them, she was malformed… different. “You need not to trust devils, Champion, but at least we’re honest of our intentions.” That grip on his hand softens, “We wish to side with you. To end their inhumane tortures of man.”

To be happy again and only then can we rejoin. “—You ignored me and my fears of how I perceived myself to feed into his paranoia?” There are no words that follow that slow build of a burning nose and wavering voice, brown eyes now bloodshot. Perhaps staying ignorant to the truth was the better option… the one that would have made everything in the end easier to finish.
