Today in numeracy we were practising adding using partitioning. We broke numbers down into tens and ones, or hundreds tens and ones and then added the different values back together. We used lots of practical materials to help us with this task! ➕🧮

Hydrology Paper of the Day @foresttherotten.bsky.social on a forest in the Central Siberian boreal zone of China and evapotranspiration partitioning: how environmental factors cause evaporation to be of greater magnitude than other components, and application of the uWUE method for partitioning.
In China's boreal forests, a new study reveals evaporation's dominant role in evapotranspiration, highlighting the need for better water management strategies!🌲

It is not possible to negotiate a “ceasefire” with russia. Partitioning Ukraine will not bring peace. Russia doesn‘t give a sh*t how many poor & ethnics die in this war, as long as Moscow & St Petersburg are safe. The war will end when the military/ economy INSIDE russia is destroyed.

We defeat fascist Russia today as the allied forces defeated Nazi Germany. Unfortunately, this is the only path to peace for Ukraine and for the rest of the free world. Anything less is dangerous illusion.

During the 1794 uprising, the chief hopes for foreign aid were also pinned on them, because they were the only ones to be roughly near and with an axe to grind against two out of three partitioning powers. But unfortunately they were broadly speaking bankrupt at the time.

Our industry works hard to avoid single points of failure – don’t rely on a single database, tolerate network partitioning with eventual consistency, primary/primary architectures… But then everyone seems to assume that DNS will always Just Work™. Instant single point of failure, just add traffic.

Namespaces tidy your cluster — they don’t isolate it.
All containers still share the same kernel, so one escape can take down the node.
Partitioning ≠ Protection.
True workload isolation happens at runtime, not in YAML.
