#SARSCoV2 causes gastric damage: structural and ultrastructural evaluation

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40542875/

"Parietal cells showed pronounced structural damage and strong #SARSCoV2 positivity, highlighting their susceptibility and potential role in gastric dysfunction during infection."
SARS-CoV-2 causes gastric damage: structural and ultrastructural evaluation - PubMed
SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2) infects the gastrointestinal tract; however, its effects on the stomach and underlying mechanisms remain unknown. The presence of ACE2 (angiotensin-converting enzyme 2) receptors in the gastric mucosa suggests that the stomach is vulnerabl …

(2) visual and parietal cortex store surprisingly rich information that is related to subjects' behavior. maybe working memory representations in these regions is not some fragile form of memory or epiphenomenal?

Looks like a foreign mass, of crap like nature in the temporal lobe. (the lobes are: frontal, temporal, parietal, and occipital)

🗞️This research replicates a study that transformed the field by showing that transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) could enhance working memory performance through fronto-parietal phase alignment at theta frequency.

New findings show that the meaning-imbued Pecos River style persisted in the region despite changes in climate, land use, and technology over the millennia, indicating its deep importance to the hunter-gatherers.

Still a couple places to touch up but, this is the most accurate representation I’ve been able to get to of Arctops Umulunshi yet :)

Here's a cool thing I learned recently about eyes! While nearly all vertebrates have two eyes, a few have a third parietal eye, and lampreys have two! And since the lamprey is so old, that could mean that all early vertebrates had bunches of eyes!

It's not relevant, I just think it's cool.

see some gorgon parietal eye in fossil form here in this post! bsky.app/profile/warg...
Did you know gorgonopsids have parietal eyes? It’s true! Here’s a cyonosaurus being worked on at the lab by Prim, who also worked on the Tufts-Love rex here at the Burke. I’ve circled the eye and pointed it out, it’s a rad thing you guys can play with in character designs w gorgons! #ref #sciart

WIP of Arctops Umulunshi. Many thanks to @pinuppaleontology.bsky.social and Christian Sidor for critique and access to this wonderful animal's remains, and for liking gorgonopsians as much as I do! Printing, adding whiskers and painting soon! #sciart #paleoart

We would have no trouble reconciling Dracorex->Pachycephalosaurus were Stygimoloch not shoving its back-end dome into the mix. It's giant spikes, it's parietal-eating and nasal ignoring, narrow mini-dome head somehow thwarting the "perfect" ontogeny of pachycephalosaurs.
November 9, 2025 at 6:34 AM
But pachy domes are doing this constantly even after supposed sexual maturity, in which the domes continue to expand, incorporating the parietal bones, then the squamosal bones, then the postorbital and lacrimal and prefrontal bones... Eventually, the dome reaches the sides and back. A full helm.

These results support an adaptive recurrence theory:
When feedforward suffices → recognition stays ventrally.
When it fails → rapid, transient, cortex-wide recurrence (fronto-parietal feedback) to resolve recognition.
In other words: recurrent loops might be our brain's visual debugger 👀 (fin)
