Today is my favorite day of my week, not because it is Friday, or the end of my work week, but because today is range day and I have over 200 rounds of 9mm ammunition, a Sig Sauer P229 Elite with a red dot reflex sight, and a new (to me) Springfield Armory XD-E in my range bag.

I just started using a red dot reflex sight on the P229 3 weeks ago. It has made a big difference. I plan to take my Springfield XD-E to shoot next week, which only has iron sights. My hypothesis is that the reflex sight practice will have improved my accuracy with even iron sights. We’ll see.

AFAIK, the P229 is an excellent pistol. That was my experience with the P226 and P228.

It is the Sig 320 that is widely believed to have a serious safety defect.

以前のポストでも書いたが、案の定P229が発売されたので、例によって5挺売って1挺買う断捨離法で購入。P228よりもゴツいスライドがカッコイイぞ。ヘビーウェイト素材と相俟って、重量感もさらに増してるし。満足である。
問題は、今後のバリエーション展開ですな。できれば買わずに済ませたいところだが、何せタナカなので、マニアのツボをグリグリと刺激するような代物を出しそうなんだよなー。困るなー(笑顔で)。

IMO many Americans don't even buy guns for personal protection or to defend themselves against a tyrannical government. They simply have a shopping addiction
