He mentions that a CD might wobble and introduce errors, but that's highly unlikely, because there's error correction built in. If a CD gets scratched badly, you might get dropouts. He also talks about jitter as a potential issue, which apparently is an issue with lower-quality quartz oscillators.

The patch is sort of a crazy idea I had to control the v/oct pitch of Rings via one controller, and the pitch of my 2 oscillators with another. Then I pass the osc sounds into the Rings audio input, hoping to harmonize beautifully. It sounds awesome when it's in tune!

Is RSI 70 Bullish or Bearish?
The Relative Strength Index (RSI). is one of the most widely-used momentum oscillators in technical analysis. developed by J. Welles Wilder Jr. in 1978. The typical oversold/overbought thresholds of 30. and 70 have become trade signals:. RSI below 30 often suggests oversold (potential bounce). above 70 suggests overbought (possible reversal). Given that, many traders ask: “If RSI is 70 (or around 70), is that bullish or bearish?”

Synchronization abounds in nature and now researchers at UC San Diego have unlocked the mathematics that govern oscillators operating at similar frequencies in the intestine, creating a staircase effect that helps move digestion along. More in the article from U.S. News https://bit.ly/4nHKk2r

This synth is fantastic because it uses the most basic, off the shelf components. It will not be hard to fix. The oscillators are the ubiquitous 555 timer IC. The envelope generators are the venerated CA3080 OTA chip. All of the other chips are standard 4000 CMOS logic chips.

This is a real thing that exists. It does not work. Let’s see if we can change that.

Synth with least intuitive user interface ever: MZ2SYNTH, inspired by Murzin's ANS synthesizer, takes a 720 pixel high image file and models 720 oscillators spanning 10 octaves (!) as output from the input's RGBL values.

Oh, and it's written in Fortran.

8 bit is a really weird way to describe a sound chip that has a suite of full analog oscillators, filters, a VCA, and analog audio processing capabilities but ok

I'm learning about complex representations of electric circuit voltage & current, which seems to be connected to IQ quadrature representation of raw radio data, but also harmonic oscillators, but also ....

math is pretty cool. study some fundamentals deeply, and the world opens up

So I can get these bloody oscillators to go buzz buzz when they are hooked up to a breadboard, even this rat's nest, but every time I try wiring them up in my awesome, tidy, sexy enclosure I built they don't work right. Major freaking bummer.
Works on the breadboard, not so much when I wire it up in the enclosure. #dronemusic #diyelectronics

We argue that beta frequency shifts arise from changes in connectivity between weakly coupled oscillators and that, more than a spectral fingerprint, they reflect the activation of behaviorally relevant communication channels, allowing for the selective transmission of information.
