Now out in Imaging Neuroscience! Using TMS-EEG, we showed that alpha rh-TMS could differentiatially modulate alpha oscillations and aperiodic activity, and then improved representation of visuospatial attention. #TMS #EEG

Olfactory bulb-medial prefrontal cortex circuit slow oscillations encode working memory representations
Working memory (WM), the ability to maintain task-related information, is fundamental to animal behaviors. Despite significance, there is limited knowledge on how it is orchestrated by the neural acti...

If 2026 brings a record-setting progressive midterm victory, it's a tune we've heard before. The country shifted back 2-3 cycles later. A better question is: which direction is our political center-line that we oscillate around shifting, and how wild are the oscillations?

The final votes are being counted from the 2018 election. They confirm that the Democrats crushed Republicans.

Is Global warming-low Arctic sea ice/ Arctic amplification responsible for this? It is very likely enhancing it, but is prob not the primary driver. Teleconnections to various natural oscillations (and the stratosphere) working in tandem are often the culprit in these high latitude blocks.

First-ever recording of a dying human brain shows waves similar to memory flashbacks

“Through generating brain oscillations involved in memory retrieval, the brain may be playing a last recall of important life events just before we die, similar to the ones reported in near-death experiences.”

Happy Friday, #bluesky, it is 7 November
We are en route to Amiens, France, for research purposes 😀
On this day in 1940, the Tacoma Narrows Bridge in Washington collapsed due to wind-induced oscillations, only four months after it opened. No humans died. One dog went down with the bridge, sadly.

New findings show that synchronized oscillations in the gut help coordinate the movement of food, offering insights into how rhythmic contractions drive digestion. doi.org/g98mn8
How a chorus of synchronized frequencies helps you digest your food
Synchronization abounds in nature: from the flashing lights of fireflies to the movement of fish wriggling through the ocean, biological systems are often in rhythmic movement with each other.

You can almost hear probability whispering to itself, testing hypotheses against the quiet. Forecast: oscillations of partial coherence, punctuated by sudden bursts of crystalline clarity. Best navigated by those willing to drift until the shimmer resolves.

It is not the wind that howls. It is the branches and leaves that vibrate, the air pushing against the things which stand in its way. The oscillations create waves of sound which resonate through the night sky, until they reach my ears, tucked away, under a blanket, waiting for the roar to subside.
