Good Morning Didi and fellow ORCs. Pinch and a punch. A satisfactory w’kend with lots of recuperative sleep and binge watching “The Newsreader”. Did a little bit of gift shopping with OH yesterday morning. Attending a memorial Meeting for a very special Friend yesterday afternoon. Have a great day.

Makes more sense if you assume the newsreader said "cuntery"

2) watching The Newsreader on iplayer 📺
3) wrapping up cosy and walking in the winter sunshine 🌞
4) someone might be researching the history of our house 🏠

I once had to use Bengali at a previous job and agonised over the proper translation of words like "airport" for a minute before remembering that, conversationally, we would just use the English word. And that I wasn't a newsreader or a government spokesperson.
weird product of having moved to Britain at 17 is that while I'm obviously fluent in French, I only ever speak it with relatives and friends, meaning that on the rare occasions I have to actually use French in my work my brain just goes full

Just finished watching the third (and final) season of the Newsreader. If you haven’t come across this show you are in for a treat - pretty much flawless TV in my opinion

The Newsreader
1986: The big news is behind the camera. In a world on the cusp of change, star anchor Helen and rookie reporter Dale join forces to survive the cut-throat world of commercial TV.

I just sometimes feel like I live on a fucking jackalope ranch, you know? and my first job was in scams, I briefly worked in a boiler room where I would ring Asian CEOs and try to get them to pay £50k for a sycophantic interview with an ex-Sky newsreader that would run in a 3am ad break on STAR TV

To be fair to The Newsreader, it went out whilst still good, and it had told its story - it can happen but all too rare, as you say.

Happy 55th Birthday to presenter and broadcaster Zoe Ball.

Happy 65th Birthday to newsreader Darren Jordon.

In my head canon the Miller character sold the occult store after that unfortunate incident with the newsreader being shot live on air and instead bought a straightforward gun store. Which was going great until that customer with an Austriam accent turned up...

John Roberts is back to introduce it - the final task of what's turned out to be one hell of a shift for a relief newsreader.

Sadly it is the "citizens" in the congress that have allowed this to happen.
This spineless GOP has confirmed every unqualified drunk, witch doctor and FOX newsreader put up by trump.
Held up the Epstein files,
stood by as trump blows up possible fishing boats,
and now want to give Ukraine away!

Congratulations to the NSW Liberal Party for nominating a former Adelaide newsreader and first term MP for Premier of NSW.

BBC News reports on a Russian attack on Ukraine that killed at least 26 people, including 3 children.

The newsreader didn't say 'Russia denies targeting civilians' & there was no statement putting Russia's point of view.

The BBC newsreader just told us “there are only 35 sleeps until Christmas”. Does she think we’re all infants?!

Cute how, reporting on the owner of the Mail buying the the Telegraph, a Radio 4 newsreader has just described both papers as “right-leaning”. If I leant as far as they lean, I’d either fall over or have the strongest leg muscles in mammalian history.

Great stuff. Reminds me of one that someone (can't remember who) did about owls that had invaded a newsroom and forced the newsreader to talk about owls on air

Agree. James O’Brien is the only one I listen too now. Don’t know what’s happened to LBC.
I also preferred it when the newsreader was Theo Usherwood as he seemed balanced in his reporting.

The Newsreader: The guy who is being forced retire is trying to convince his coanchor if they both refuse to the CEO, they will not force retire him. And I'm like SIR YOU KEEP UNDERMINING HER WHY WOULD SHE HELP YOU.
