Newfoundland is worthy exploration as well. And not a part of Canada until 1948.

You can apply for a birth certificate from Newfoundland Vital Statistics if you mail them documentation showing you are a descendant of the person. If your person was Catholic you can try getting a baptismal certificate. Some have gained citizenship w/o bc but other documentation.

In addition to Ancestry.com, the Family History Association of Newfoundland has resources that might be useful. And they had a recent presentation by Craig Morrissey in which he shared other sources.

To be clear, the cutoff is still 1947 though, right? I assume that excludes those of us whose great-grandparents came down from Newfoundland around WWI?

Everyone has missed the fact that Trump's map also includes St. Pierre and Miquelon, a small French archipelago near Newfoundland. It is a full part of the French Republic and operates under the French Constitution and therefore, like Canada, is protected by NATO.

Blue hour on Duckworth Street this evening after 5pm. By Vu restaurant looking out at Signal Hill and The Narrows and harbour. Then at the National War Memorial.

Loving the getting dark around 5pm now. Daylight Saving Time on March 8th!
