That's fair. God, I think the last FPS game I bought was Black Ops 3. Haven't played any in a while. I did play MW1 and 2 remastered for free with PS Plus though. Great games.

MW2 was my last Call of Duty, having played Big Red One, CoD2, CoD3, MW1, WaW beforehand.
I just lost interest.. However, I may still play MW3 sometime but literally only because my Jeep is a limited edition MW3 Wrangler. 😅

You don't *have* to, but it provides some additional context. You'll appreciate MW2 more if you eat MW1 first. You'll also be able to grouse with the real fans about how they messed up the lore

I've not played hardly any post-COD military shooters, but I remember firing mortars at the civilian village in MW1 while the American co-pilots whooped and cheered, and thinking "this is SOMETHING. Good or bad I don't know, but it's something". That was nearly two decades ago.
