Plasma Mobile 6.5 brings big updates to this platform for small Linux devices (like phones)

Plasma Mobile is a user interface for mobile Linux distributions that includes a mix of features borrowed from the KDE Plasma desktop environment and mixes in some mobile-specific components designed for smartphones, tablets, and other touchscreen devices. The latest version brings some key improvements including a more responsive lock screen, some cosmetic home screen enhancements, improved Settings menus, and an easier way to run Android apps on Linux phones.

PC and mobile accessory maker UGREEN entered the network-attached storage space last year with the launch of the UGREEN NASync line of devices. Since then the company has introduced several additional models, but now the company is returning to its original NAS systems, bringing a small spec bump to at least one model: the new NASsync DXP4800S is a 4-bay NAS with an Intel N150 Twin Lake processor (representing a very slight spec bump over the Intel N100 Alder Lake-N chip in the DXP4800).

Why? Because why not! Although this device is old, it is powerful enough to run modern Linux. Since the original Android firmware is no longer supported, it would be a good idea to breathe some fresh life into this device. I didn't realise how difficult it would be. This blog post summarises the steps I took over several months to get a partially functioning Fedora 32 up and running on this device.

It could be a happy end in a way if Android app devs could port their apps/switch main development for #MobileLinux and shape its future together. Sadly maybe the Year of the #LinuxMobile isn't here yet, even as progress was made. Might stay as a budget Android user for phones, but wrote enough now!
