🔬🧠Brain‑training games for LC cognitive dysfunction? The RECOVER‑NEURO trial shows they don’t address the underlying pathology. Games can’t fix inflammation, microvascular issues, or neuro‑immune dysfunction - we need interventions that understand the biology not candy crush 🍭

REMODEL is fantastic demonstration of what we can do with collaborative effort to perform what Kathy Tuttle calls mechanistic clinical trials!

Semaglutide provides kidney protection via improvements in inflammation and microvascular function. Lots of data to parse going forward. #KidneyWk

This post is from a scientist with a political agenda, and it is very wrong.

Here‘s what this in vitro model does not have:

❌ any resemblance to the details of a brain! It’s a ball of cells.

Please don’t be fooled by the NAM folks, funded by the right to damage science.

Trump's 6 causes of significant diminished mental acuity:

• Microvascular ischemic brain disease
• CVA - at least one, mild-to-moderate sized stroke
• Decades of ongoing cocaine and Adderall abuse
• Hepatic Encephalopathy
• Family history of Alzheimer's Disease
• Dark Tetrad

We take skin/muscle/bone tissue from forearm, hip or leg and then connect the blood vessels to branches of the carotid artery and jugular vein in the neck. I did my Facial Plastic and microvascular Reconstructive fellowship in Canada. I miss it very much. 2/2

Dead brain stays dead, and as you get older your neuro plasticity (ability for your brain to adapt to neuro injury) declines.

Similarly, chronic microvascular disease inhibits recovery and creates a sort of “stuttering” decline in cognition. So you test for it regularly.

It’s settled. Unless an earlier date opens up, I’ll undergo a minor brain surgery called microvascular decompression on December 16th.

According to my doctor, there’s a 60-70% chance the procedure will provide instant and significant relief. Should be fun. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microva...

Anyone here know anything about microvascular decompression? My neurosurgeon wants to try that instead of nerve ablation.

SARS-CoV-2 can damage endothelial cells, disrupting blood flow and oxygen delivery. This microvascular injury drives organ damage and Long COVID.

What if ΔPCO₂ in shock is more about acidosis than Haldane effect?
New study shows hydrogen ions dominate the CO₂ gap while flow recovers. #OxyFlo measured jejunal microvascular flow to link perfusion with CO₂ dynamics.

Regional venous-to-arterial carbon dioxide pressure and content differences during endotoxemic shock: influence of hydrogen ion accumulation vs. Haldane effect - Intensive Care Medicine Experimental
Background The relationship between carbon dioxide pressures (PCO2) and contents (CCO2) is linked to the Haldane effect. Nevertheless, under shock conditions, hydrogen ion accumulation might strongly ...

Follow up. My wife just came out of surgery, a “microvascular decompression” to address her trigeminal neuralgia. She had a massive impingement of a vein on the nerve. She’s just waking up … and the pain (for now) is gone.
I’m surprised that Stephen King never wrote a story about trigeminal neuralgia, because my
<loved one> is dealing with this condition and it’s an effing nightmare. Excruciating phantom pain in your face, triggered by talking, eating, a light wind… what the absolute f*** is this?
