IDK much of UG-level Geo doesn't *need* crazy math tho. I didn't do stuff like Fourier transforms until grad school. I did a math minor in UG tho (up through DiffEq).

Also underfunded depts can't afford MATLAB or Arc licenses. UMiami had a LOTTERY for the chance if getting a MATLAB license ffs.

MathWorks release MATLAB MCP Core server

In the video below you are watching Claude read a file on my local machine and use my local install of MATLAB to analyze it. Claude writes the MATLAB code, puts it on my machine and runs it using my copy of MATLAB

Dopo secoli sono tornato.
Queste ultime settimane sono state di fuoco con il progetto di tesi al pc tutti i giorni tutto il giorno.
Ormai mi escono Excel, Word e Matlab dagli occhi🫠

I'm getting discouraged with my calculus 3 and MATLAB, so I decided to look up complex analysis. Wow, that looks so cool!! I hope to eventually learn about it. I just gotta get through this first.

Matlab is a glorified calculator, with convoluted coding method that most of the uses of it can be done faster, and more easily in excel or Google sheets.....

Fucking hate(d) matlab.

The best analogy I’ve heard about LLMs is that they’re like Uranium. Incredibly powerful in the right hands, incredibly dangerous in the wrong. The other day I fed chatGPT a dozen or so papers and had it write a physics modeling tool in Matlab. It worked!

Bingo.

One of the reasons we were using matlab to teach students is because it was so easy to use — even for novices.

But if the usability drops further then we are better off switching to free and legal alternatives without the barriers (IDEs for python, java, R, octave, etc.)

MatLab боже я вже в забула що це таке аххаха 🤣

Authors published a paper in Biorxiv, they used MATLAB in the study. Including #RRIDs will make this less ambiguous.

SciScore made a table with this resource, see “Automated Services” module (download as csv, xml or #jats) #RRID #methodsmatter

And you can try these immediately in MATLAB Online (free 20 hours a month for any and all).

Was liegen geblieben ist:
- ein Review, Deadline morgen *juchuu*
- das Excel/Matlab/Data Wrangling Problem...
- meine Studie online stellen, damit ihr alle auch dran teilnehmen könnt, wenn ihr wollt!
- sehr viele ungelesene WhatsApp Nachrichten...

Jetzt geht´s ins Bett... Gute Nacht!

Using #trame, it was a breeze to freshen up an old Matlab teaching demo for affine registration and turn it into an interactive web app. @trame-dev.bsky.social. Try it here: pypi.org/project/pics...

there's supposedly another program called 'matlab' out there, but I don't believe the rumors

Ich habe jetzt 1.5 Stunden mit einem eigentlich sehr simplen Problem in Excel und Matlab verbracht und habe noch nicht so wirklich viel geschafft, außer mich zu ärgern... Data Wrangling nervt.

Matlab is the alcohol equivalent of one of those Coca-Cola freestyle machines

Any insights into why this is happening? (first run of code in Matlab is much slower than subsequent runs). Normal and expected? Google-fu didn't turn up much.

There was a parsing error in the sGEA module of v2.2 that affected the gene list outputs (not the stats). It is corrected now in v2.3. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I've been watching programming language tier list videos. We all have our biases and here are my tiers for the languages I've personally used and ones used in my field. S-Tier: Python. A-B Tier: C#. D-Tier: R. F-Tier: MATLAB (who wants to pay $3k/year when I can use Python for free?)

Switched to Julia 3 years ago. Still can’t uninstall MATLAB — held hostage by the interactive GUIs of dfield, pplane, and matcont.
