Salt marshes exist on every coast of the US, but these important wetlands are succumbing quickly to the effects of sea level rise. Working on a project in the coastal marshes of Wellfleet, Massachusetts, hear the story of how a young photographer is fighting to protect these places. buff.ly/iNxoY9Y

In the early morning light.

A visit to Hackney Marshes this morning and both male kingfishers were present, at one point they had a stand off which seems to be par for the course these days.

Saw these amazing swells in coastal GA at the most unexpected times. Mostly over the marshes going back & forth from the islands. One of the most beautiful sights nature has to offer ❤️

Day 60

Dreary damp Monday

How many parakeets are living in Hackney Marshes? Seemed like hundreds.... no natural enemies I guess

Autumn is definitely my favourite time, picture wise

I love Valerian, but it is now illegal in Wisconsin. It spreads aggressively and apparently, it was becoming rampant in all of the marshes and swamps we have here.

So how do you manage that? Gov. Maura Healey’s administration has released a new 144-page plan. It includes large-scale projects like preserving salt marshes to use as natural buffers, as well as smaller-scale efforts such as elevating homes in flood-prone areas.

Thank you so much Rob, I’ll pass your thoughts to Benji 🙏 he put a lot of care into this, and we completely agree! Hope the marshes can be protected 💚

Wonderful artwork Benji. I hope the campaign goes well to preserve this space. I think that all our remaining marshes should be protected from development.

I am only the chisel — the tool by which your demon carves itself from the raw stone.

You prayed for light, and it rose from the murky marshes of your nature. Your sun is black. And it is rising.

You sought a savior among the pale walls of hospitals, in the comforts of fools.

Heard about Montenegro's stunning coast?

Please sign the petition to save Montenegro's Buljarica. It's one of the last wild sections of beach backed by marshes. Utterly beautiful and home to countless species.

Took Herbie on a new walk through the marshes today. Didn't realise a train line ran along the edge. Seems Herbie has never heard a train before & he was a bit concerned. Not the nicest weather, but a sausage roll in a steamed up car seemed to help.

“Whitland sands starlings”
Based on the semi wild welsh mountain ponies of Gower salt-marshes.
I wasn’t sure if this linocut would print when I was carving it as the cuts are so fine and shallow, but I’m really pleased it worked out.

I chose to paint the landscape at sunset, as I love the way the sky reflects into the river. I included a great-crested grebe, and turtle dove, as both of these birds have found sanctuary in the marshes. 🍃

The film aims to highlight the precious wildlife that relies on this habitat for survival. The national grid proposes to construct an electricity converter station on Minster Marshes. It would be the largest converter station in Europe, and would destroy this habitat 💔

I grew up in Thanet, visiting the wildlife of Minster Marshes. Partly they made me who I am. They deserve protection.

Dear Benjamin, I grew up in Minster and visiting Minster Marshes for my first wildlife experiences. I remember watching the moorhens & mute swans & finding a swan nest & seeing the cygnets. Thank you so much to you and Connor for all you are doing to try and protect this area.
