En fait, l'effet de luminescence dépend de la longueur d'onde utilisée : 365 nm ou 395 nm. Un lampe de Wood pour la détection de la teigne utilise une lumière UV d'une longueur d'onde de 365 nm. Avec une lumière de 395 nm, les effets de luminescence chez le Hérisson sont bien plus prononcés.

A murky and endearing amphibian, the Flos lele, lays eggs on a water lily and guards them with its life, opening a flower-like collar when threatened. The male feeds and waters the eggs. It can attract insects using the luminescence on its throat sac.
