After I studied in Tanzania in 2013, my mom and I made a quilt from all my kanga and kitenge fabric- which unfortunately hasn't held up as well as heavier quilting cotton. So now I'm repairing it with some Kenyan fabric I found online and requilting it more heavily.
A bit of colorful quilt in an embroidery hoop, with some patches.

Have a look on ebay for Kitenge you may find someone selling whole pieces (they come in a fixed traditional size) or smaller quilt size pieces near you. See also Kanga for a different tradition with borders and mottos. Wikipedia has explanation I think.

Lovely. A strong East African Kitenge vibe. Strong colours and usually a nature theme but home and food objects too as these printed fabrics are mainly 'women's culture'. I find them irresistible but sadly never use them myself...so far...
