His infectious laugh, big heart, and artistic talents are but a few of the many ways that he will be warmly remembered and deeply missed.

Happy Birthday Herbert! Today should have been Herbert Hightower Jr.’s 46th birthday. Instead, we reflect on the short time he was with us before being murdered by a Seattle police officer at the age of 25.

We love and miss you everyday Herbert.

Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers we lost to police violence. Herbert was a devoted father, loving son, and dependable brother. In his memory and in the memory of all loved ones lost to police brutality, we fight for a world free from state-sanctioned violence.
